Moen
Builders, Inc. started placer mining gold in Southwestern Montana in
1977. During these early years the company came to the conclusion that
gold recovery technology was very outdated. Since World War II, when
the government effectively closed all precious metal mines, there had
virtually been no research and development pertaining to gold recovery
circuits. This challenged and led the company to begin a search for new
technologies pertaining to the recovery of heavy metals.
During the 1980s
and 90s through trial and error, perseverance and generally what we
call the school of hard knocks the company has gained the in-house
knowledge to separate most minerals by their specific gravity. Some of
the plants and processes we have developed have successfully separated
such minerals and elements as placer gold, rubies, garnets, sapphires,
silica and tungsten. Since 1987 the company has implemented 30 projects
throughout the US and Canada that utilized our gravity separation
technology.
In addition to our
processing technology Moen Builders, in conjunction with our wholly
owned subsidiary M & W Milling and Refining, designs and constructs
portable hard rock mills, leaching circuits, mill tailing and placer
plants. We also operate a 280 ton per day gravity and floatation mill
located near Virginia City, Montana and have a complete metallurgical
laboratory located on site.
Our in house staff
is capable of evaluating mill tailings, placer and hardrock properties
from grass root through feasibility.
